THE VERDICT – Engaging The Community w/ “The People v. OJ Simpson” Finale Episode
On April 5, 2016, we had a ball partying with a purpose! I traveled to my home town of Dallas/Fort Worth where I sponsored a not-for-profit viewing event for “THE VERDICT” – our series finale of FX/FOX’s “The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story.”
The evening was in association with International Arts & Philanthropy Foundation and FOX Audience Strategy, who I cannot thank enough for supporting my commitment to engage the community with a Q&A discussion surrounding real issues in the community today, using the trial and series as a point of departure.
Our co-hosts were KJ Midday On The Radio & Lynne Haze from Smooth R&B 105.7, and the soundtrack was provided by none other than DJ Steve Nice of K104-FM Dallas, TX. THANK YOU so much for your support and enthusiasm.
Our event also launched Project:NOW’s upcoming campaign to raise much needed funding for local non-profits benefitting families and youth arts throughout the DFW area called Project:NOW – Dallas
Community leaders, and dear friends and family, came out to support local charities doing amazing work on the ground. I was honored to share this time with all of them: Jazz BeCuzz, DaVerse Lounge, Community Food Bank, Fort Worth Metropolitan Black Chamber of Commerce’s Film Insitute, and DVA Productions Theatre – these organization are incredible, and I look forward to what we’ll do together in the future.

And thank you so much to The Tom Joyner Morning Show, Roland Martin/TVOne/News One Now, the CW Network/News Fix, and all of the local media outlets for having me on to discuss the show, and our Project:NOW Dallas initiative.
